Green Homes Are Energy Efficient
Energy-efficient appliances, windows, doors, and the overall insulation and sealing of your home work together to reduce the electricity needed to keep your home cool and comfortable.
Energy-efficient Appliances
Our green homes use Energy Star rated appliances that can reduce your electricity bill each month by 25% or more. In a green home, the washers, dryers, refrigerators, dishwashers, dehumidifiers, air conditioners are all energy-efficient. Abundant windows and skylights maximize the natural daylight and ambient light. Over the life of your home, saving 25% a month can save you thousands.
Efficient Windows
In a green home, windows are sealed and insulated to reduce the amount of air leakage and heat transfer. Green windows are often gas-filled, meaning a transparent gas between the panes minimizes convection to help reduce the temperature transfer from your home to the outside. This means that in warm climates, green windows keep the heat out, and in cold climates, they keep the heat in. The windows also have high acoustic dampening to keep your home quiet.
Insulation and Sealing
With a green home, insulation is thorough. Whether it’s spray foam insulation added between studs to prevent air from dissipating outward, or doors with tighter seals to prevent air from seeping underneath, green homes keep the air you want in through proper sealing. Ventilation is controlled and maximized through the filters and air handlers you designate, rather than escaping on its own.
